The Obstetrics and Gynecological (OBG) Nursing Department in a B.Sc. Nursing program trains students to provide comprehensive maternal care. Placed primarily in the 3rd and 4th years, it combines classroom theory, laboratory simulations, and clinical postings in antenatal, intranatal, postnatal, and gynecological wards.
Clinical Postings & Skills
Students undergo extensive hands-on training to gain competency in:
Simulation Labs:Using mannequins and pelvic models for OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) skill stations like episiotomy suturing and delivery mechanics.
Hospital Rotations: Active clinical duty in labour rooms, Obstetrics/Gynecology Operating Theatres, and antenatal/postnatal
Community Outreach: Conducting health education programs in local languages for pregnant women and families on topics like family planning, nutrition, and breastfeeding.
